101 NGOs and 550 Public Authorities Urge Prime Minister Donald Tusk to End Human Rights Violations at the Polish-Belarusian Border

In a significant development, 101 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and 550 public authorities have collectively signed and submitted a letter to Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The letter addresses the alarming human rights violations witnessed since the onset of the humanitarian crisis at the Polish-Belarusian border.

In a joint letter, they highlight the use of forceful pushbacks by Polish border guards, leading to violence and fatalities. The letter calls for immediate action to halt expulsions, citing contradictions with national and international law.

Three key measures are proposed: changing Border Guard officers’ practices, repealing specific regulations and amending the Foreigners Act. The signatories express readiness for dialogue to address migration and refugee challenges.
