June 26 is recognized as the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, established by the United Nations. Migrants and refugees constitute a group, which is particularly vulnerable to this type of violence. According to the United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture, over two-thirds of people receiving support from the Fund are those with migration or refugee experience.
This is why the Ocalenie Foundation, with its clients in mind, has launched the Help Center for Victims of Tortures. Foreigners currently living in Poland, who have fallen victim to violence by (or with the consent of) the authorities of any country, may benefit from the Center’s support.
The Center will operate until the end of 2020. Project is cofinanced by the UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture.
