ABOUT US

Information Point for Foreigners in Łódź

Foreigner Help Center is a part of the Łódź Multicultural Center (Łódzkie Centrum Wielokulturowe, ŁCW), an initiative of the Center of Family Services and Koper Pomaga Foundation, co-sponsored by the Łódź City Hall. In 2021-2022, the Center was operated by the Ocalenie Foundation and the Opus Center.

Łódź Multicultural Center strives to facilitate social integration of foreigners, new arrivals to our city, and their Polish neighbors. We believe meaningful social integration is a multifaceted process. It involves legal and logistical help, but also, and more importantly, various initiatives promoting communication and bringing together the people of Łódź.

According to the Łódź City Hall, in 2018-2019 as much as 12% of the local workforce was Ukrainian. The daily Gazeta Wyborcza estimates that foreigners comprise a fifth of the city inhabitants. The City Hall, aware of the implications of such data and interested in facilitating social integration, decided to launch Łódź Multicultural Center.

The visitors to the Help Center can take advantage of our multicultural assistants, lawyers, therapists, and job counselors who speak Polish, English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarussian. We also provide support via phone and email. The Center runs Polish language classes for all age groups, as well as other integration initiatives, workshops, urban walks, anti-discrimination campaigns, and various events.
